Richard Collingridge Profile Background Experience


Richard Collingridge Ecologist with thirty years' experience of nature conservation work, as a Conservation Officer for the Nature Conservancy Council (NCC - government nature conservation body for Britain until 1991) then for English Nature (EN - the body which replaced NCC in England), and then independently.

Detailed knowledge of UK and European nature conservation law and practice. Wide experience of survey, assessment and management of natural habitats. Ecological consultant, writer and lecturer on environmental matters.

Also a partner in Hillcroft Conservation Grazing , which uses traditional-breed cattle and sheep to carry out management of heathland, marsh and grassland habitats in Hampshire and Dorset.

Member of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (MCIEEM)

Lives on the edge of the New Forest with partner, poultry, horses and cattle. Enjoys wildlife, sailing, cycling, driving (horses) and riding.
